“I Am God” What Lies Hidden in the Heart

神さま

“Son of man, say to the ruler of Tyre, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: “‘In the pride of your heart you say, “I am a god; I sit on the throne of a god in the heart of the seas.” But you are a mere mortal and not a god, though you think you are as wise as a god. (Ezekiel 28:2)

When I read this verse, my heart aches a little. It’s because somewhere within us, the same kind of thought can quietly take root. “I can handle things on my own.” “I don’t need to rely on anyone.” When we think this way, we may be unknowingly placing ourselves in a “godlike” position. But God does not speak to us in order to condemn. He speaks with love, gently telling us, “Your heart is becoming proud.”

When we acknowledge our weakness and come before Him in humility, God pours out abundant grace and healing. Pride leads us toward loneliness, but humility leads us into deep fellowship with God.

Where is your heart today? If you feel tired or burdened, try sitting quietly before God. When you confess, “I am not God. You alone are my God,” a deep peace begins to flow into your heart. God is not the One who condemns you—He is the One who embraces you. Resting in His love, may you take another gentle step forward today.

Commentary
This song is a gentle confession of letting go of pride and returning to God with an honest heart. It reflects the struggle of trying to be strong on our own, and the relief that comes when we admit our limits and rest in God’s love. Each verse moves from self‑reliance to surrender, and the chorus declares a simple truth: we are not God, and that is where freedom begins. Please give it a listen!
